Won a big sweepstake,where do i pay taxes on it?

I surpose to have won some $money and the company sent me a fee check to pay on my winnings (not yet recieved the winning in my hands yet)where do i take the fee check so maybe the winning amount will be in my hands?

    If you really do have big winnings – as in life-changing – then you should have a lawyer and a financial advisor. They will tell you where to pay taxes.

    I can’t see why it would be hard to figure this out, though.

    you can report that on your tax return. also most of the time, they cut all the taxes before giving you the earnings.

    As I understand it, they are telling you that you have won a lot of money and you have to pay them a fee to collect it. That sounds very much like a scam to me, and you should report it to the authorities. Mail fraud should be reported to the postal service; you can also contact the Better Business Bureau.

    Scams like this are HUGE. Do NOT send any money. If the winnings are real, you will get a check. You can report it on you income tax. Uncle Sam finds the real big winners.
