Tutorial on how to put samples in music using reason NNXT NN-XT and Goldwave a free wave editor. Good for sampling vocals in jungle Drum and bass, dubstep, garage, house, trance, techno, electro, hip hop, pretty much any sort of tune in any dance orientated genre, also good for recording individual beats and creating loops with individual snares and kick drums etc. use this advice to cut sounds / samples from pretty much any source, radio, TV records vynyl, tape, microphone acapellas. you may need to play and pause this vid to keep up. As mentioned in the video, soundforge is a good main editor, mainly because it has time stretch and expand meaning you can speed up or slow down vocals to match your song and it doesnt go chipmonk style. There are other ways to sample, this is just the way I prefer and am used to. If anyone notice I went a long way round something please comment, I may have done it on purpose or I may not know. when i click the record button it says that it cannot start, is there anything you have to mess with the first time you use goldwave? like the properties or something?

  8. originalbunglist says:

should just record, have never seen this before, whats the exact message?

  9. JoeFromCO says:

says, cannot start recording. Choose the help button for more info.. :(

  10. originalbunglist says:

sorry man, really dont have a clue what this could be, and help buttons are normally shit too…. possibly something to do with your soundcard record setting? Try using Audacity, thats free too i think, if it works then you know there is a conflict with goldwave

then just follow the video from after I shut goldwave…

  11. JoeFromCO says:

i got audacity, and when trying to record with that it says ” Error while opening sound device. Please check input device settings and the project sample rate.”

    ? lol

  12. originalbunglist says:

if its doing this kinda thing in both programs then its got to be a soundcard / driver issue, have u ever recorded anything using this soundcard b4? u happen to know what soundcard it is? one that came with ur setup or installed your own? is it a pc?(as in not mac), try looking for device settings / recording preferences etc on you pc in control panel etc, usually under “sound” maybe a soundcard needs selecting in the record bit, let us no how u get on, its good for others who get stuck. Safe

  13. originalbunglist says:

also if u can find the recording settings, these should work……… 16 bit, 44.100 khz

  14. JoeFromCO says:

i have an HP, microsoft windows vista home premium, and under sound device it says Realtek High definition audio… ye

  15. JoeFromCO says:

are there any cables needed to be plugged into my computers inputs

  16. originalbunglist says:

vista/realtek are fine, you dont need any cables unless you are recoring from out side ur pc, i.e. from decks or a mic etc. try going into Start/allprograms/Accessories/sound recorder, its windows own shitty record device, see if you get an error there, it looks like ur soundcard is not configured to record to me, is soundcard external? also mite sound silly but are you getting anu sound even on playback from a cd or the internet etc?

  17. JoeFromCO says:

when i go to sound recorder, it says “an audio recording device cannot be found.” and after that, under the recording section it says my speakers are working, but there is no microphone or line in.

  18. originalbunglist says:

do you have sound tho? it sounds like your soundcard is not set up correctly, hard to say exactky how to set this up as they are all different

  19. Chazban says:

@originalbunglist when i press record to says input microphone 50% however, i want to record from youtube how do i change the setting to capture this?

  20. originalbunglist says:

@Chazban u need ro change the recording preferences on your soundcard, thheres usually an option to record “what you hear” which is the best one to leave it on, or just pick “wav”, “cd”, “internet” etc depending on ur setup

    safe, thanks for watching
